Creating Your Profile

Your profile is your identity in The Grotto ecosystem.

Authentication Options

Profile Details

Add your display name, bio, avatar, and social links. Optionally verify your Discord through the bot at ggrotto.xyz to unlock holder roles.

Wallet Section

The wallet section is your financial dashboard within The Grotto platform. Access it via the side menu by clicking your profile and selecting "Wallet".

Click your profile in the top right to open the side menu. Under "Account", select "Wallet" to open the full wallet view at enterthegrotto.xyz/wallet.

Wallet Overview

Your wallet displays your address, Native HERESY balance (Grotto L1), and C-Chain HERESY balance. Quick stats show your total Tokens, NFTs, and Items counts.

Portfolio Section

The Portfolio tab shows your total portfolio value in HERESY. Filter by:

• Items: Game Passes and Assets (ERC-1155 semi-fungible tokens)
• Tokens: Your token holdings including launchpad tokens
• NFTs: Your NFT collection

Game Passes

Game licenses appear as "Game License" cards in your Items section. Each card shows the game thumbnail, title, description, and quantity owned.

Embedded Wallets (Powered by Privy)

Embedded wallets provide a seamless Web3 experience without requiring users to manage private keys or install browser extensions. The Grotto uses Privy to power its embedded wallet infrastructure.

What is Privy?

Privy is a leading Web3 authentication and wallet infrastructure provider. It powers the embedded wallet experience on enterthegrotto.xyz, enabling users to onboard without needing prior crypto experience.

Privy Authentication Methods

Privy supports multiple ways to create and access your embedded wallet:

• Email: Sign up with your email address. Receive a one-time code to verify and log in.
• Google: Use your Google account for instant signup via OAuth.
• Twitter/X: Connect your Twitter account for social login.
• Discord: Use your Discord account for seamless community integration.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple ID (iOS users).
• Phone Number: Use SMS verification for account access.

How Privy Embedded Wallets Work

1. Account Creation: When you sign up with email or social login, Privy automatically generates a new Ethereum-compatible wallet for your account. This happens instantly in the background.
2. Key Management: Your private keys are encrypted using MPC (Multi-Party Computation). The key is split into multiple shares stored across different secure environments—no single party (including Privy or The Grotto) can access your full key.
3. Transaction Signing: When you perform actions (buy, sell, stake, bridge), Privy reconstructs your key momentarily to sign the transaction, then immediately destroys the reconstruction. You confirm each action with a simple click.
4. Recovery: Account recovery is tied to your login method (email, Google, etc.), not a seed phrase. If you lose access to your email, you can recover using backup methods configured in your account.
5. Multi-Chain Support: Your Privy wallet works across multiple chains including Avalanche C-Chain and The Grotto L1. The same address is used on all EVM-compatible networks.

• MPC Key Sharding: Your private key is split using threshold cryptography—no single party can reconstruct it alone.
• Secure Enclaves: Key shares are stored in hardware-secured environments (TEEs/SGX).
• No Seed Phrase Required: Eliminates the risk of seed phrase theft or loss.
• Session Management: Active sessions are monitored and can be revoked remotely.
• Audit Logging: All wallet interactions are logged for your review.

Embedded Wallet Limitations

• Cannot connect to other dApps outside the platform
• Less control over private keys compared to external wallets

Exporting Your Wallet

You can export your embedded wallet's private key if you want to import it into an external wallet like MetaMask. In the Wallet section, click the key icon next to the Send button to export your private key. Warning: Keep this key secure and never share it with anyone.

External Wallets (Login Method)

External wallets can be used as a login method on The Grotto—think of it like using your wallet as a secure login token instead of a password. When you connect an external wallet to sign in, the platform creates or links an embedded wallet for your account. This gives you the security of wallet-based authentication while enjoying the seamless embedded wallet experience within the platform.

Connect your wallet on the platform, select your provider (or use WalletConnect for mobile), and approve the connection. Add The Grotto L1 network when prompted (Chain ID: 36463).

Welcome to Enter the Grotto ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at enterthegrotto.xyz (the "Site"), including related services, features, content, smart contracts, and applications (collectively, the "Services").

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.
• By using the Services, you represent that you are not located in a country or territory subject to U.S. sanctions or otherwise prohibited from using blockchain-based services.
• We may restrict access where use of the Services would violate applicable laws or regulations.

2. Accounts & Wallets

• You may need to register an account or connect a supported blockchain wallet to use certain Services.
• Wallets are provided by third parties (e.g., MetaMask, Phantom). We do not control or operate wallets.
• You are solely responsible for safeguarding your credentials and wallet keys. We are not responsible for unauthorized access, loss, or theft.

3. Our Role

• Enter the Grotto is a venue and facilitator of peer-to-peer interactions. We are not a broker, custodian, exchange, or marketplace operator.
• Transactions occur directly between users via blockchain smart contracts. We do not hold custody of funds, NFTs, or other digital assets.
• We do not guarantee that any content, asset, or NFT is authentic, safe, legal, or valuable.

4. Game Jams & Community Events

• Creators may host and join game jams and upload games, prototypes, and assets.
• Participation is at your own risk. We are not responsible for prizes, contests, or disputes between participants.
• We reserve the right to moderate or remove content that violates these Terms or community standards.

5. User Content & Licensing

• By uploading content (games, assets, NFTs, metadata), you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, and distribute your content for the operation and promotion of the Services.
• You retain ownership of your intellectual property, subject to licenses granted here.
• You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to upload and distribute the content and that it does not infringe third-party rights.

6. NFTs & Minting

NFTs minted or listed through the Services are governed by smart contracts on third-party blockchains. You acknowledge:

• Smart contracts may contain bugs or vulnerabilities.
• Transactions are irreversible and final.
• Blockchain fees ("gas") are your responsibility.
• We do not control or guarantee the value, liquidity, or market for NFTs.
• NFTs are not financial products, securities, or investments offered by Enter the Grotto.

7. Payments, Fees, and Taxes

• All payments occur directly between users via blockchain wallets.
• We may charge fees for transactions or services, disclosed at the point of use.
• You are solely responsible for determining and fulfilling any tax obligations (sales, VAT, income, etc.) arising from your activities. We do not provide tax advice or collect/remit taxes on your behalf.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Services to:

• Upload or distribute illegal, infringing, hateful, pornographic, or harmful content.
• Mint, sell, or promote securities, unregistered financial instruments, or fraudulent schemes.
• Launder money, finance terrorism, or violate sanctions laws.
• Interfere with, exploit, or disrupt the Services or underlying blockchains.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations.

9. Intellectual Property & Takedowns

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe your rights have been infringed, contact us at wrathtank@thecityllc.com with a detailed notice (including asset link, proof of ownership, and takedown request).

We may remove allegedly infringing content in our discretion and may suspend repeat infringers.

10. Third-Party Services & Links

The Services may integrate or link to third-party tools, wallets, or platforms. We do not endorse or control third-party services. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

11. Risks & Disclaimers

• Blockchain and NFT markets are volatile and risky. Values may fluctuate dramatically or become worthless.
• You are solely responsible for evaluating the risks of using blockchain technology.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, NFTs, or digital assets.

Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the past 12 months or (b) USD $100.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Enter the Grotto and its affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
• Provisions that by nature should survive termination (licenses, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnities) will continue in effect.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
• Any dispute must be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis, not in a class or representative action.
• Arbitration will take place in Wyoming, USA, unless otherwise agreed.

16. Changes to Terms

• We may update these Terms at any time. The new version will be posted with a new "Effective Date."
• Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

What We Collect

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide our services. This includes your public wallet address when you connect to the Platform, transaction data recorded on the blockchain, and content you voluntarily upload (games, assets, profile information). We may also collect anonymized usage data to improve our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to: provide and maintain Platform functionality; display your content and profile to other users; process transactions and smart contract interactions; improve and optimize the Platform; communicate important updates; and ensure platform security. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Blockchain Data

Transactions on the blockchain are public and permanent. Your wallet address, transaction history, and interactions with smart contracts are visible on the public blockchain. This is inherent to blockchain technology and not within our control. We recommend using a dedicated wallet for the Platform if you prefer to keep your activity separate.

4. Information Sharing

We may share information with: service providers who assist in Platform operations; law enforcement when required by law; other users when you make your content public.
